New Year, Future You: Do you like who you're becoming?

FREE New Year, Future You workshop on Jan 8 at 1pm Eastern. Save your seat here.

Happy New Year!

How’s your week been? It’s been extra quiet at the Jolly Zoo and that’s exactly what I’ve needed. Quiet time for reflection and journaling (yes, I use my own downloadable journal) and sorting out how I’m feeling about the flipping of the calendar.

Whether this New Year is like a big shiny fresh start for you or just another Saturday, there’s never a bad time to set some intentions for the days ahead.

How do you want to spend your best energy? What do you want to experience? What do you want to change? What do you want to continue? How do you want to grow? What do you want to achieve? What do you want to enjoy?

When you take time for reflection and figuring out what’s important to you, you set Future You up to live that kind of life.

The problems come when:

1. We fail to seek clarity or set intentions.

You’re constantly becoming Future You. The question is… do you like who you’re becoming? A year from now, you’ll be a slightly different version of you. Will you like that version of Future You? Will Future You have habits that help you and make you feel good? Or ones that drag you down?

2. We set TOO MANY goals or intentions.

I used to be one of those people who started every year with an intense, detailed, TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE plan for the year. I’d make it about a week with my 17 new habits and 47 new goals before I’d lose steam and quit. How about you? If you’ve got some goals, are you being realistic and setting yourself up for success?

3. We don’t manage our time well.

Have you ever thought it would be nice if Future You was less stressed? Or more organized? Or had finished that big project you sporadically work on? If you’re great at setting goals, maybe you struggle in the “actually working on The Thing” department. For years before I published Becoming Future You, my husband used to ask me when I thought my book would be done. I’d have to say, “Never. Because I never work on it.” 😔

I’d listed “write book” in my New Year’s Plan for 10 (at least) years before I actually worked on it with any consistency. One of the big changes I made that finally allowed me to publish was better time management and putting my work time on my calendar.

If you are:

  • Wondering what’s next...
  • In need of a motivational boost...
  • Frustrated that Past You has previously failed to reach your goals or achieve your dreams...
  • Wishing you were better at sticking to new habits...
  • Feeling bad about not being better at something (or everything) or further along...

You need to come to my FREE WORKSHOP on Saturday, Jan 8th at 1pm Eastern.

It’s a new kind of “feel good about yourself while also growing into your authentic self” goals class. ♥️ I'll help you clarify your intention, create a strategy that will work, and set Future You up for success.

Save your seat and I’ll see you on Saturday.

You’ve got this!

Love,

Mel
